Here are six fun and welcoming places you should visit on your next Vilas County getaway.

19th Hole Sports Bar & Grill

Just down the street from the St. Germain Golf Club, this restaurant has a par 3 golf course and a Wilderness Miniature Golf Course right on site. Head inside for some great food and beer! The classic 19th Hole Burger is hard to beat. It’s a seven-ounce Angus patty served with lettuce, tomato and onion and your choice of side.

Aqualand Ale House

In Boulder Junction, Aqualand Ale House is the perfect place to relax after enjoying the nearby trails. The Ale House offers 20 craft beers on tap – pull up a stool or seat indoors or enjoy the patio on warm days. What to order? Aqualand’s wood-fired pizza is incredible. Try the Steak House–it’s topped with shaved prime rib, mushrooms, red onion, Gorgonzola cheese and garlic horseradish oil.

Buckshot’s Downtown

This lively downtown pub is in walking distance from many of Eagle River’s downtown attractions and it’s also accessible by snowmobile and ATV. The pub has a retro feel, with walls covered with classic records. As you soak up the atmosphere with a cold pint, try the gourmet mac & cheese pizza–it’s amazing!

Buckshot’s Saloon & Eatery

This saloon on Highway 45 north of Eagle River is the place to be on game day. It has eight TVs and 24 cold beers on tap! Come in with an appetite and make sure to order “The Beast.” The patty is a half-pound blend of elk, wagyu beef, bison and wild boar, along with fire-roasted poblano peppers, fried onions, pepper-jack cheese and chili garlic aioli on toasted brioche.

Eagle Waters Resort Restaurant

This classic Eagle River resort has welcomed generations of guests and its beautiful restaurant is open to the public. The expansive menu has a lot of delicious options, including all the supper club classics. If you’re in the mood for pizza, try the Wisconsin bratwurst kraut pizza–it’s an only-in-Wisconsin creation that’s bursting with tailgate flavor. Wash it all down with a beer from their full bar.

The Hillside Tavern & Grill

The Hillside, a welcoming spot in Sayner, has a table waiting for you. If you’re in the mood for pizza, you’ll love their famous homemade thin crust. If burgers are more your style, order the Vinchi Burger–a tender, seasoned Italian sausage patty smothered with delicious pizza sauce and melted mozzarella cheese and served on French bread. On warm summer days, have a seat on their patio—and relax with an ice-cold beverage.
