Welcome to the 3rd annual Kiwanis Poker Paddle

Anytime, anywhere by September 30th, 2020

VIRTURAL ONLY EVENT FOR 2020!!

This was a new event to the Northwoods in 2018 and a fundraiser for the Lakeland Area Kiwanis Club who support youth and programs for youth in the Lakeland Area. This event is similar to a typical “Poker Run” except that it is on the water in non-motorized watercraft. It is open to paddlers of all ages, but you must be over 21 to participate in the Poker Hand portion of the event. Maximum entries are 100. Anyone paddling under the age of 18 must have parental permission.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This event is simply a 7 mile paddle that you can do anywhere at anytime before the end of September. We ask that you take a picture and submit it with your confirmation that you completed the event. We have a course mapped out on the Manitowish Waters chain if you would like to use the course we normally have. The starting point will be at Little Star Beach in Manitowish Waters. Paddlers will navigate the waters of Little Star Lake then over to Manitowish Lake and Spider Lake, continue to Stone Lake and up the channel to Rest Lake and conclude at Rest Lake Park.

This is not a timed event and is meant to be enjoyed at your leisure. The approximate paddle time will be about 3 hours and the distance is about 7 miles. Click here for the map of the event on the Manitowish Waters chain.

PRIZES: The paddler with the best poker hand will win $300.00 and the paddler with the worst poker hand will win $150.00. New this year are 3 random cash prizes of $50.00 each. Once you complete the event and submit a photo, you will be listed on our website with your poker hand.

REGISTRATION: Early Bird registration is $30 and can be done online at Runsignup.com thru Friday, 8/28/2020. Normal registration cost is $40 from 8/29/2020 through 9/30/2020. (see the link below)
