Palmer Tenderfoot Nature Conservancy Canoe & Hike
September 18, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm$55
Join Nature Conservancy volunteer Rod Sharka as he leads you by canoe across scenic Palmer Lake, down the Ontonagon River and across Tenderfoot Lake to reach Guido Rahr, Sr. Tenderfoot Forest Reserve. The cultural history of Tenderfoot Lake will be discussed as you canoe, and then explore large tracts of old-growth forests and undeveloped shoreline as you hike around Mirror Lake, now accessible due to a newly created boardwalk. Six-mile canoe trip and four-mile hike will be moderate to strenuous; pack water and a lunch. Limited space is available and include a minimum of five and a maximum of eight participants. Participants will need to drive themselves to the start location of the trip (directions will be emailed prior to the trip). Do not come if you have had an illness within 14 days of the event (you will be able to receive a refund). NLDC reserve the right to cancel/refund if case levels significantly change and the program is deemed unsafe. Facemasks will be required at the start of the program and when social distancing cannot take place. Register by September 16th. Canoes, paddles, and PFDs will be provided if needed.
