Festive events in Vilas County
Published: October 23, 2019It’s the season to celebrate in Vilas County! From Santa visits to sleigh rides, trail rides to outdoor carnivals, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy. Here’s a sample of some of the upcoming events you won’t want to miss.
Eagle River
All aboard! Each December, downtown Eagle River hosts weekly sleigh rides. Take a free horse-drawn ride from Railroad Street through downtown Eagle River to Trig’s. The rides take place from 11 am-3 pm on Dec. 7, Dec. 14, Dec. 21 and Dec. 28.
If a motorized sleigh is more your speed, join one of the Sno-Eagles Guided Snowmobile Trail Rides, with various dates in January and February.
St. Germain
Ring in the Holiday season in St. Germain at “Lighting Up St. Germain.” The Nov. 30 event features a Holiday Parade starting at 5 pm, tree lighting and visits with Santa. After the parade, all are welcome to join Santa in singing some carols and lighting the town Christmas tree.
Presque Isle
Warm-up your holiday season in Presque Isle. Sleigh Rides and S’mores on a Winters Night on Dec. 13 features horse-drawn sleigh rides, a bonfire, games and of course, s’ mores!
Manitowish Waters
Count down to the New Year in Manitowish Waters. Marvel in Manitowish Waters is happening Dec. 26-31 and includes activities such as a story hour, crafts, horse-drawn wagon rides through the Discovery Center, live music, dances, snowshoeing, ice skating, nature-based activities and a New Year’s Eve celebrations with fireworks.
