Holiday fun is just around the corner in Vilas County. If you’re looking for a few things to do when the snow flies, check out these upcoming events for a dose of winter excitement in the Northwoods.

“Wi-Does” Wine Walk – Eagle River, 11/19

Don’t miss out on Eagle River’s great shopping options—and sample some tasty wines—at this fun event in downtown Eagle River during the opening weekend of the gun deer hunting season. Participants will receive a wine tasting glass and be able to choose from nearly two dozen wines, and many downtown businesses will be offering special discounts.

34th Annual Christmas Walk – Boulder Junction, 11/25

Ring in the holiday season with a tree lighting, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, horse-drawn wagon rides, special treats for shoppers, carolers, and more in downtown Boulder Junction the day after Thanksgiving.

Holiday Marketplace & Lighting Up St. Germain – St. Germain, 11/26

Head to the St. Germain Community Center to kick off the holiday season with a visit to the third annual Holiday Marketplace. Find unique items from local craft vendors, kids’ activities, food, and more at this festive event. In the evening, enjoy carolers and the lighting of the town Christmas tree at the Lighting Up St. Germain holiday celebration.

Christmas for the Town & Tree Lighting – Manitowish Waters, 12/2

Get into the holiday spirit by making Christmas crafts and playing games—and enjoy hot dogs, chili, and homemade Christmas cookies—at the Manitowish Waters Community Center in the afternoon, then visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. In the evening, don’t miss the tree lighting ceremony at Koller Park, where you’ll also find a bonfire, carolers, and more tasty treats.

Marvel in Manitowish Waters – 12/26-1/1

Enjoy low-cost and free family-friendly outdoor and indoor events throughout Manitowish Waters before ringing in the New Year. Check the Manitowish Waters chamber website for more information—previous events have included horse-drawn carriage rides at the North Lakeland Discovery Center, story hours, live music, snowshoeing, ice skating and more.
