Vilas County Snowmobile Alliance: Please refrain from using trails

From the Vilas County Snowmobile Alliance and the Vilas County Department of Parks & Recreation: Due to unseasonable weather conditions, the Vilas County Snowmobile Trail System has deteriorated to poor and dangerous conditions. All grooming operations have been halted, and we are asking riders to refrain from using the trails until we receive more snow.

For your safety and to preserve your equipment and protect our landowners’ property, please do not use the trails until we have enough snow to resume regular grooming and trail maintenance.

For more information, contact the Vilas County Department of Parks & Recreation at (715) 479-5160.

Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of winter fun to be had in Vilas County. You can explore scenic trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking, find fun community events, and more!
