Take a look at some of our visitors' favorite moments from their trips to Vilas County.

Children on a snow-covered lake Presque Isle Wisconsin

Everyone who visits Vilas County makes their own moments, whether it’s watching a jaw-dropping sunset over a Northwoods lake or playing in northern Wisconsin’s freshly fallen snow. See some of our favorite moments that have been shared by visitors.

Savoring the Winter Sun, Brian H. (above)

It’s important to stay warm in the winter, and Brian captured this photo of a couple kiddos “jumping for joy and warmth” on a snow-covered lake in Presque Isle.

Frozen Lake

Spring Thaw on the Wisconsin River, Jean L.

Jean shared this photo from her property on the Wisconsin River in Eagle River shortly after an April snowfall.

Sunset

Sunset x 2, Dee S.

“We have a place on the peninsula of Squaw Lake [near Lac du Flambeau] and the pink colors were from the beach side and the orange sunset colors were from the pier side, on the same night! Just beautiful!”

Dog Jumping In Lake

Freedom Flight, Katie F.

Vilas County is a great place to bring your furry friends, as Katie found out when she shared this photo taken in Boulder Junction: “Rocky spent 8.5 years in a cage until we adopted him last summer. He was terrified of the water at first, and this was him a couple of weeks later. It’s a magical place for him now, and we can’t keep him out of the water.”

Fog On The Water

Foggy Morning at the Cabin, Camilo P.

“Spent a weekend at the cabin with family on Marshall Lake near Conover. Woke up early to some fog settled over the lake and couldn’t pass up the shot of the sun rising over the trees. The lake was like glass, barely a ripple. Can’t wait to be back up this summer.”
