Explore Wisconsin’s second-largest zoo right in the heart of Wisconsin's Northwoods.

Wildwood Wildlife Park

Did you know you can find Wisconsin’s second-largest zoo right here in Vilas County?

Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo & Safari—located on Hwy. 70 west of U.S. Hwy. 51 in Minocqua—covers 259 acres and is home to more than 1,700 animals and 200-plus species, from giraffes to parakeets to snow leopards to African penguins.

This fun, family-friendly Northwoods attraction is open seven days a week in season and welcomes visitors of all ages to discover its wonderful animals. Say hello to the world’s tallest animal at the Giraffe Serengeti (and offer them a bite to eat!), or visit the Parakeet Encounter, where these friendly birds might say “hi” to you instead.

Visitors can feed many of the animals on-site, including deer, sheep, goats, camel, trout and koi. The Safari Tram offers a 30-minute guided tour of the property that includes rare animals like kudu, nyala and oryx in addition to zebras, wildebeest and more.

If you get hungry, there’s a great ice cream shop where you can find tasty treats.
