Sitting along the shores of North Twin Lake in Vilas County, the town of Phelps offers visitors to the Northwoods of Wisconsin a wide array of activities. Let’s take a look at a few of them:

  • Fishing. From North Twin Lake to Lac Vieux Desert and Big Sand Lake, anglers can find great fishing opportunities for walleye and musky. A number of lakes in the area have boat launches for getting your craft out on the water.
  • Visiting the Nicolet National Forest. Phelps is located within this 650,000-acre national forest, which offers great camping, fishing, hiking and hunting to visitors. The forest also contains five designated wilderness areas.
