Vilas County Ice Fishing Tournaments

This winter, Vilas County is the place to go for big fun and big prizes. Ice fishing season is in full swing and there are tournaments happening throughout the county in February that give ice fishermen a chance to test their skill, and their luck. Go after the big one, or just show up and join the party! Here’s a sample of the upcoming fun on the ice.

 

10th Annual Frozen Tozen, Boulder Junction

This ice fishing tournament takes place on Boulder Lake Feb. 3—head to the Boulder Lake Boat Landing to join the fun. The tournament runs from 8am-4:30pm and the event features cash prizes, raffle drawings, food and beverages. The event benefits the Boat Landing Improvement Fund.

 

8th Annual Ice Fishing Jamboree, Conover

The biggest fish will win this lively tournament on Feb. 3 in Conover. The Ice Fishing Jamboree takes place from 7am-3pm and there will be food, beverages and prizes for the largest fish in each category. The tournament takes place at the Pioneer Boat Landing in Conover.

 

17th Annual Northern Exposure Ice Fishing Tournament, Phelps

Pick a lake and drill a hole: the 17th Annual Northern Exposure Ice Fishing Tournament on North and South Twin Lakes. Win prizes and have fun—the tournament is held at Northern Exposure Bar & Restaurant. The tournament takes place from 6am-4pm on Feb.10.

 

Plum Lake Fishing Tournament, Sayner-Star Lake

Calling all anglers! A day of fishing and fun will take place from 6am-3pm on Feb. 10. There will be prizes, a raffle, food and more—the tournament takes place at the Sayner Community Center.

 

Sand Lake Pub Ice Fishing Derby, Phelps

Head to the Sand Lake Pub to join the fishing action on beautiful Sand Lake. This Feb. 17 tournament runs from 7am-3pm and includes good times and prizes awarded at the end of the day.
